Rise of the Resistance Will STOP Using Boarding Groups

As of Sept. 23, Disney World will pause the use of virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios may experience this incredible attraction using a traditional standby queue.

Some are very happy about this change due to the difficulty of snagging a boarding pass at 7:00am or 1:00pm. If you were unable to get a boarding pass you were not able to ride Disney World’s most popular attraction. This was very frustrating to those unable to ride. With the new change everyone will have access to ride, all you have to do is wait in the standby line. Which is sure to be a long wait time at peak park times.

As part of the unveiling of the new Disney Genie+ system this fall, Rise of the Resistance is currently on the list of available Individual Attraction Selections. This means that guests can pay an individual fee to access this ride through the new Lightning Lane (what used to be the FastPass lane) and skip the standby wait. you can pay to have access to the Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane. It will not be included with the regular rides on Genie+ (which is $15 per ticket, per day), but purchased separately. The Individual Attraction Selections attractions with not have a set price, the prices will be date based pricing. Meaning the price will increase with park attendance.

Starting Oct. 1, 2021 guest staying at a Walt Disney World resort will have 30 minute early park admission. This maybe a good attraction to go to first thing in the morning and take advantage of beating the general public. You can also monitor ride times using the My Disney Experience App.

As always, we will be following the changes closely. Subscribe to stay up to date on the latest park news!
