Poseidon's Fury To Close Permanently At Universal's Islands of Adventure

Hey Universal park fans! This week it was announced that Poseidon's Fury will permanently close at Universal's Islands of Adventure at the end of the day of May 9, 2023 to make way for "exciting new experiences,". Poseidon's Fury is located in The Lost Continent area of Universal's Islands of Adventure. This attraction has one of the more impressive exteriors of any attraction within the park. However, many guest feel like the actual attraction is dated.

Poseidon's Fury first opened at Universal's Islands of Adventure in 1999 making it one of the opening day attractions. This 20-minute walk through attraction is led by an archaeologist that takes guest through the tomb of Poseidon. Event go wrong and your now trapped in a tomb by Poseidon's evil nemesis and you and you guide must find a way out.. This guided walking tour brings you face to face with an impressive water tunnel and fire effects.

We are excited to see what Universal will bring to this location! We think it has a lot of potential to become a top tier attraction. There has been year of speculation of Poseidon’s Fury being re-themed to a Legends of Zelda ride. With the popularity of the new Mario Movie, we think this could be an interesting possibility. Tell us, are you excited or sad to see this attraction go? What do you think Universal will do with the location?

As always, we hope this information brings a little extra magic to your stay!
