4 Nighttime Spectaculars Returning Soon to Disneyland
As announced in November during Destination D23, the Disneyland Resort is thrilled to bring back its nighttime spectaculars this spring. On April 22, 2022, the “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will return to Disneyland park, and “World of Color” will return to Disney California Adventure park. And our personal favorite, “Fantasmic!” is preparing for its return to Disneyland park on May 28, 2022.
Fantasmic!
It has just been announced that the extremely popular nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! will return to Disneyland Park on May 28, 2022. This is great for Disneyland fans as the news seems like it has been a long time coming. Fantasmic! first premiered at Disneyland in 1992 with cutting-edge special effects and storytelling using the space of the Rivers of America. Fantasmic! will be performed nightly from May 28 in Frontierland with scenes from Disney classics including The Lion King, Tangled, Aladdin and Pirates of the Caribbean, all appearing on and around the Rivers of America.
World of Color
The nighttime spectacular that has enchanted millions of guests as been announced to return on April 22, 2022. This breathtaking extravaganza at Disney California Adventure park brings animation to life, where you can relive memorable scenes from beloved Disney and Pixar films. Powerful dancing fountains shoot high to the sky on Paradise Bay, creating a fantastic movie screen of water and a veil of mist, while lasers electrify the night, capped with a soaring soundtrack. You may see scenes such as WALL-E and Eve zipping through the cosmos, Pocahontas exploring just around the river bend and Jack Sparrow battling on the sea.
Main Street Electrical Parade
Over the past five decades, the “Main Street Electrical Parade” has brought families together to delight in its many whimsical stories and featured characters. And soon, that will continue for a whole new generation. Upon its return to Disneyland park, the “Main Street Electrical Parade” will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the Disney Live Entertainment team will introduce exciting new elements to the “Main Street Electrical Parade”. We are very excited to see this Disney classic return soon on April 22, 2022.
Disneyland Forever
This show has sparkling pyrotechnics and immersive projections that envelop you in a breathtaking journey with surprising special effects. This beloved spectacular – which originally debuted in 2015 for the 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration – transports guests from an Anaheim orange grove into the worlds of timeless Disney and Pixar stories. “Disneyland Forever” also features two original songs: the theme “Live the Magic” and the inspiring closing song “Kiss Goodnight,” written by Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman.
Upon its return, there are many places around Disneyland park where you can enjoy “Disneyland Forever.” Whether you choose to watch on Main Street, U.S.A., in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, near “it’s a small world,” or around the Rivers of America, each location has a different, exciting and immersive experience of the show, as each location bursts to life with colors, projections, and pyrotechnics. The multi-dimensional aspect of the show allows guests to discover new surprises depending on which location they choose!
