Villain-Con Minion Blast Opens for Technical Rehearsals
Hey Universal Park Fans! We have some exciting new to share with you all! As you all may know, Universal recently opened the parks newest Land Illumination’s Ave- Minions Land. Universal Orlando's newest attraction located in Minions Land, Villain-Con Minion Blast, is currently in its soft opening phase at Universal Studios Florida.
A soft opening is a period during which the attraction is open to guests, but the final experience might not be fully complete or available at all times due to ongoing testing and adjustments. During this technical rehearsal period, the ride may not operate for the entire day, and certain elements of the attraction may be unavailable as the team works to iron out any glitches.
As of now, photography and videography are not allowed in the queue or on the attraction itself, but updates on this exciting new experience will be shared with guests as they get to experience it for the first time.
Illumination's Villain-Con Minion Blast is an interactive stand-through shooting attraction on a moving walkway. Developed in collaboration with Universal's award-winning creative team and filmmakers from Illumination, the attraction combines screen technology, gaming interactivity, and physical sets to offer a unique and immersive gaming adventure. Guests will have the opportunity to compete against each other as they strive to join the ranks of the Vicious 6, the franchise's notorious supervillains.
The storyline of the attraction revolves around guests visiting Villain-Con, the largest criminal convention in the world, which has set up at Universal Studios Florida. Here, guests participate in a competition to prove themselves worthy of becoming the newest member of the Vicious 6. Armed with interactive blasters, guests embark on a motion-based pathway to start blasting their way through various scenes, earning points by shooting at different targets and causing havoc.
Minion Land has transformed much of Production Central into Illumination Avenue, featuring the Minion Café, which replaced the former Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Cafe. Other food options include Bake My Day, Freeze Ray Pops, and Pop-A-Nana. The introduction of Villain-Con Minion Blast and the Minion Land theme area adds a whole new dimension of fun and excitement to Universal Studios Florida, giving visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the mischievous world of the beloved Minions and their dastardly adventures.
