Universal Orlando’s Hogwarts Express CLOSING For Refurbishment
Hey all you witches, wizards, and muggles out there! We have some big news for those of you visiting Universal Orlando this summer. According to Universal Orlando’s calendar, the Hogwarts Express will be closed for refurbishment this summer from June 9th until June 16th, 2022. If you’re a muggle, you may not know what the Hogwarts Express is.
Let us put this in muggle terms. The Hogwarts Express is a first-of-its-kind ride that links two parks in one themed experience. The train not only provides transportation from park to park but also presents two different “stories” for passengers to enjoy on their routes.
The Hogwarts Express travels from King’s Cross Station (in Universal Studios Florida) to Hogsmeade Station (in Islands of Adventure), as seen in the books and movies, and from Hogsmeade to King’s Cross. As you travel from one platform to the other, you will see a number of Harry Potter characters make appearances, including the fabled trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione and a sneak attack by the chilling Dementors.
Muggle Reminder: Requires a park-to-park theme-park ticket to ride. As Hagrid would say, stick to your Ticket Harry!
This refurbishment joins a few others you can expect in Universal Orlando this summer, including the popular roller coaster, Revenge of the Mummy. News of this upcoming refurbishment of the Hogwarts Express will be disappointing for guests who have plans to visit Universal Orlando Resort during these dates of closure in June but hopefully as this appears to be a brief refurbishment, the Hogwarts Express should be up and running again from June 20 and should be set for a good summer.
