New Family Entertainment Coming to Universal Studios Orlando

Hey Universal Park fans! Today Universal Orlando Resort released some big news regarding the future of the Woody Woodpecker Kid Zone. Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced more than half of the Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone area at Universal Studios Florida will close January 15th 2023.

Affected attractions include: Fievel’s Playland, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, Curious George Goes to Town, DreamWorks Destination, and Shrek & Donkey’s Meet & Greet.

Fortunately, iconic opening day attraction E.T. Adventure as well as Animal Actors on Location, SpongeBob StorePants and its greetings, and KidsZone Pizza Company will remain open.

So what will replace these attractions? Well, Universal has yet to release this info. There has been no announced replacement for the space as of yet. Universal Orlando has been gaining momentum compared to their rival neighbors, Disney World. Recently Disney World has been in hot water with their park fans due to rising cost and complicated park system. This has caused may families to go elsewhere for their vacations.

Universal is certainly known for their thrill rides, but are limited with rides for the younger kiddos. Due to the recent growth, Universal now has a new need to meet the demand for family attractions. We are very excited to see what will come to this future land. We will keep you updated here as we learn more!
