Monsters Cafe Closed Permanently at Universal Studios Florida

If you’re a big Universal Monsters fan, we have some sad news for you. Fans of the spooky dining establishment first took notice this morning when the Monsters Café was listed as permanently closed on Google, and removed from the official Universal Orlando website. As of today, Universal Orlando Resort confirmed the closure of Monsters Café.

After more than 20 years of serving dreadfully-delicious quick-service menu offerings, Monster’s Café in Universal Studios Florida permanently closed in the spring of 2022 to make way for a new dining experience.”

The Café had several dining rooms, each themed to different Classic Monsters. The main room where the service counters are located has a laboratory theme. In the background of the photo above, you can see part of the “Rita” in the Creature From the Black Lagoon room. The restaurant had semi-recently undergone a menu renovation and begun serving skillet-style meals with chicken, ribs, and more.

As for what will replace this iconic restaurant, that remains unknown. Many theorized earlier this year that with the closure of Shrek 4-D to make room for a possible new Minions attraction, we could see this quick service restaurant rethemed to match the nearby area. Now, many believe that will in fact be the case. We shall wait and see!
